Paranormal Phenomena  (Shadow Spirit)

There's a growing interest in the phenomenon of shadow spirit or people.

What are they? Ghosts? Interdimensional beings? Something else? Even Evil Spirits?  I Sahun Underwood is going to try to find out.

Lets find out together!

All I know Is the fact that fellow team members and myself have come across these shadow spirits and trust me when I say that they are not like anything I have come across in the 20 years I have investigated the world of ghosts & Hauntings. In fact I did not even know what this Phenomena was until three weeks aga when I was emailed by a fellow investigator from the the states. So I let my figers do the walking as I now spent days and nights getting as much information as I can on the NEW Paranormal Phenomena. So I have tried to get only the FACTS but I truly can not say that everything I have got in the way of information is 100% fact. So If your reading this and you can add something new about this Paranormal Phenomena as I know is shadow spirits then please email the information you have , have you even come across this type of activity (Paranormal Phenomena) before. If so then send me your email address or phone number and I would like to talk to you about activity.

Before I write about this type of (Paranormal Phenomena). I would like you to take a few moments looking at these picture and also go to my the video that I have added to this page and watch a short film closely. It was taken by a team member when my self and jackie were on a short brake from an investigation. Myself and jackie Gee were having a coffe when this happend and at the time we saw and felt nothing. I was so happy that one of the team kept recording the hold time. Take a look and let us know what you think of our findings.

Here is the information that we know now about this type of paranormal Phenomena, I dont know for sure if its all fact or fiction as I have no way to verify any of the information at this time.

Storys & History & Information.

WHAT WAS THAT?" You were sitting comfortably on your sofareading the latest issue of FATE in the dim light when movement across the room caught your attention. It seemed dark and shadowy, but there was nothing there. You returned to your reading - and a moment later there it was again. You looked up quickly this time and saw the fleeting but distinctly human shape of the shadow pass quickly over the far wall... and disappear.

What was that? Some natural shadow? Your heightened imagination? A ghost? Or was it something that seems to be a spreading phenomenon - apparitions that are coming to be known as "shadow people" or "shadow beings." Perhaps this is an old phenomenon with a new name that is now being discussed more openly, in part thanks to the Internet. Or maybe it's a phenomenon that, for some reason, is manifesting with greater frequency and intensity now.
Those who are experiencing and studying the shadow people phenomenon say that these entities almost always used to be seen out of the corner of the eye and very briefly. But more and more, people are beginning to see them straight on and for longer periods of time. Some experiencers testify that they have even seen eyes, usually red, on these shadow beings.

The mysterious sightings have become a hot topic of conversion in paranormal chat rooms, message boards and websites, and it is given widespread attention on paranormal talk radio.
What are shadow people and where do they come from? Several theories have been offered.

THE IMAGINATION

The explanation we get from skeptics and mainstream science - and who are usually people who have never experienced the shadow people phenomenon - is that it is nothing more than the active human imagination. It's our minds playing tricks on us... our eyes seeing things in a fraction of a second that aren't really there - illusions... real shadows caused by passing auto headlights, or some similar explanation. And without a doubt, these explanations probably can account for some if not many experiences. The human eye and mind are easily fooled. But can they account for all cases?

GHOSTS

To call these entities ghosts demands first a definition of what we mean by ghosts. (See the article: Ghosts: What Are They?) But by almost any definition, shadow people are somewhat different than ghost phenomena. Whereas ghost apparitions are almost always a misty white, vaporish or have a decidedly human form and appearance (very often with discernable "clothing"), shadow beings are much darker and more shadow-like. In general, although the shadow people often do have a human outline or shape, because they are dark, the details of their appearance is lacking. This is in contrast to many ghost sightings in which the witness can describe the ghost's facial features, style of clothing and other details. The one detail most often noted in some shadow being sightings are their glowing red eyes.

DEMONS OR OTHER SPIRIT ENTITIES

The dark countenance and malevolent feelings that are often reported in association with these creatures has led some researchers to speculate that they may be demonic in nature. If they are demons, we have to wonder what their purpose or intent is in letting themselves be seen in this manner. Is it merely to frighten?

Description of Shadow People

Most often shadow people look like living shadows. When you stand near a wall and a shadow is cast of yourself, this is what shadow people look like, living shadows. They are most often seen out of the corners of the eyes, or as a fleeting image passsing behind. Sometimes, others see formless translucent black splotches and twirling columns of murky smoke.

Interesting Sighting Details of Shadow People

Alone in your room, minding your own business, a quick movement in the corner of your eye suddenly comes into view. You're sure that it was a shape of a person you just saw. You feel the presence of something you think was once human. Was it just a silhouette? A shadow perhaps? Or maybe a ghost? You think maybe it's nothing, but think again, is it your keen mind playing tricks on you? Or is it a supernatural entity?

Shadow like beings appearing in dark forms of silhouettes and are supernatural in origin are the Shadow people. Often times mistaken to be ghosts, these beings appear in the corner of people's eyes, remaining for a moment and sometimes moving between the walls, appearing in mirrors and when we are aware of them, they disappear, they flee and disintegrate into nothingness, moving and toddling through walls before you get a chance to see them clearly.

Also known as Shadow Beings or Shadow Folk, Shadow People are drawn to one person or location for mysterious motives. Their characteristics range from being diffident and playful to downright spiteful and malevolent. The only way to describe it is pure evil. Unusual descriptions of people who came across these beings, in different countries all over the world, have been very daunting. While some people see a shadowy form which is human like, others see formless translucent black splotches and twirling columns of murky smoke.

Scientists discover 'shadow person'

SYDNEY: Ever feel as though you're being followed? As if someone is behind you, shadowing your every move? It might be your ‘shadow person', created by unusual activity in a specific brain region, a new study shows.

The paper, published in the British journal Nature, describes the case of a 22-year-old woman with no history of psychiatric problems who was being evaluated for treatment of epilepsy. When a region of her brain called the left temporoparietal junction was electrically stimulated, the woman described encounters with a ‘shadow person' who mimicked her bodily movements.
"Electrical stimulation repeatedly produced a feeling of the presence of another person in her extra-personal space," said Olaf Blanke, co-author of the study conducted by a team of researchers from University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland.

When the patient was lying down, stimulation of this brain region caused her to feel that someone was behind her. She described the person as young, of indeterminate sex, "a shadow who did not speak or move, and whose position beneath her back was identical to her own", according to the researchers.

When the patient sat up, leaned forward and clasped her knees, she felt that the figure was also sitting, embracing her in its arms - a feeling she described as "unpleasant".
During a language task, in which the seated patient held a card in her right hand, she described the person sitting next to her and trying to interfere with the task. "He wants to take the card … he doesn't want me to read," she said.

Because it was possible to induce the sensation repeatedly, and because the ‘shadow person' closely mimicked the patient's posture and movements, the researchers conclude that the patient was experiencing a perception of her own body.

"The strange sensation that somebody is nearby when no one is actually present has been described by psychiatric and neurological patients, as well as by healthy subjects," said Blanke. Until now, however, it was not understood how the illusion was triggered in the brain.
The temporoparietal junction is known to be involved in creating the concept of ‘self', and the distinction between ‘self' and ‘other'. According to the researchers, stimulation of this region interfered with the patient's ability to integrate information about her own body, leading to her experience of a ‘shadow person'.

Although the woman was aware of the similarity between her own movements and those of her doppelganger, she didn't recognise the experience as an illusion of her own body.
Similar shadowy encounters have been described by people with schizophrenia, as well as by healthy subjects, leading the researchers to believe that: "Our findings may be a step towards understanding the mechanisms behind psychiatric manifestations such as paranoia, persecution and alien control."

Thanks to there  readers for this outstanding information

Shadow people are
supernatural shadow-like humanoid figures that, according to believers, are seen mostly in peripheral vision and move quickly. They are sometimes known in modern folklore and paranormal popular culture as dark entities with malevolent intentions.

Several scientific principles can be used to explain reports of shadow people, including
optical illusions or hallucinations brought on by physiological/psychological circumstances, drug use or side effects of medication, and the interaction of external agents on the human body.

An illusion of a shadow person can be created when the left temporoparietal junction, a specific region of the brain, is stimulated. This sensation (the illusion of seeing a shadow person) may be heightened in people who have a psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia or paranoia. The brain uses sensory information such as figuring out where certain body parts are in relation to objects around the body. The temporoparietal junction deals with these cues too and when the function is disrupted, it is possible for the brain to perceive two bodies instead of one. [2]
Pareidolia can sometimes explain why figures are seen peripheral areas of vision. Pareidolia is a phenomenon in which the brain incorrectly interprets random patterns of light/shadow or texture as familiar patterns such as faces and human forms.

Hypnagogia (also known as "waking-sleep"), a physiological condition in which one is partially between sleep and full consciousness, could also account for such perceptions.[4][improper synthesis?]

During hypnagogia, one can be conscious and aware of their environment, but also in a dream-like state where they can perceive images from their subconscious. People experiencing hypnagogia commonly report seeing or sensing lights or shadows moving around them, as well as other visual hallucinations and even a (subtle or powerful) feeling of dread. Hypnagogia is sometimes known as 'the faces-in-the-dark phenomenon' because these people commonly report seeing faces while experiencing hypnagogia. Hypnagogia hallucinations are more common in people who already experience symptoms of insomnia, extreme daytime sleepiness, or mental disorders. However, these hallucinations are most common in people who are experiencing narcolepsy.[5][improper synthesis?]

Another reason that could be behind the illusion of seeing a shadow person is the symptoms sleep deprivation.[improper synthesis?]

Hallucinations have been connected with the deprivation of sleep. With lack of sleep, the neurons in the brain are unable to work efficiently and effectively. Therefore, the brain may create a picture dissimilar to reality and cause the person to believe in something that isn't there.

[relevant? ][6]
Schizophrenia can provide another explanation for Shadow People. People who are often associated with this mental disorder can have delusions and see things that aren't actually there. Delusions can occur in the nonappearance of abnormal perceptions and different beliefs can be present in various people with abnormal perceptions. Schizophrenic people may have delusions that rise out of tendencies to attribute to the causes of outside forces.[
